Why in the world would the beloved Disney teen idol Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana) agree to do a photo shoot for Vanity Fair wearing a sheet? Even her TV show Dad would not have approved of Hannah Montana becoming a Disney Pin-up girl. Or would he? Who on earth thought that a partially nude Miley Cyrus was a good idea besides photographer Annie Leibovitz and the rest of the hangers on that enjoy watching the good die young?
"The magazine defended the pictures, saying the singer, her parents and her handlers approved of the images during the shoot." Of course they did! She's young, she needs the money. Source: AM NY
Here's the thing, Miley Cyrus is powered by a teenage brain incapable of accurately evaluating the long term consequences of a risqué Vanity Fair photo spread. That's what her parents are for and if that safety net fails then it's an agents job to cover the girl (pun intended). In this case both pillars of guidance folded like a lawn chair. Why didn't we hear Miley's parents issuing an apology to fans for the Vanity Fair fiasco? She is under their care after all. I fear that Miley Cyrus has already crossed over into the twilight zone of celebrity that transformed Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears into tragic caricatures of their former selves. I wish I was exaggerating to make a point. Once the parents of a young celebrity are turned into Hollyweirdo flesh eating zombies, everyone starts to look like a decent meal. Even their own kids. Aim for the head people!
Cyrus only has a short time left to navigate away from a headlong fall into a future not unlike Lohan and Spears. She could really use a "come to Disney talk" right about now. Where's uncle Walt when you need him? The kind of attention that the media doles out on young celebrities can quickly become a gateway drug when you're only fifteen years old. The addictions get worse on the way up and then get splattered all over the front pages of the tabloids on the way down. A lose-lose proposition for celebutantes.
My heart goes out to Miley, she really needs parental guidance more than she needs another magazine cover, because a childhood is a terrible thing to waste. She may want to hold onto that Hannah Montana disguise, I have a strong feeling that it won't be long before it becomes the only safe way to recapture her childhood. Now someone cue the zombies please... lights! cameras! destruction!

i still can't believe that people are surprised at her photos. the person that took them is always 1 photo away from pictures to porn. and i am convinced now that her daddy is a pervert like the photographer

An unfortunate part of Miley's career, and definitely a bad idea from whoever in her management decided that this was a good idea. And where was Billy Ray's achey breaky heart to step in and tell his daughter that this was a bad idea?
