A new children's book authored by Ricardo Cortes teaches kids all about marijuana conveying that "It's Just a Plant". The book chronicles a child's path to learning about marijuana from a host of colorful characters including a group of street thugs, a farmer and an unfortunately timed cameo appearance by Bill "I never inhaled" Clinton as himself.
"It's Just A Plant" (a children's story of marijuana) could possibly be the modern hippie version of "Are You My Mother?" Cortes may be an undiscovered literary genius of a different kind destined for his rightful place atop Oprah's Book Club.
If you haven't already guessed it, this book is stirring up major controversy among parents which almost guarantees that it will become an instant best seller. Author Ricardo Cortes believes there needs to be a new way to educate young people about marijuana insisting; "This book is not about teaching kids how to use marijuana, it is about educating them about the plant," Cortes said in an interview. Though Cortes did not intend to publish a "how to" book about weed, one page highlights the various street names used for marijuana like, reefer, bam bam, Mary Jane, ganja, muggles and sweet leaf. The kind of relevant education that makes discovering marijuana so much fun even for adults. Are You My Muggles? At least kids won't be complete newbs when trying to grow their own batch of sweet skunky stuff on the fire escape of their New York high rise apartment. I found many of the books drawings and the narrative to be pure comic genius.

Cortes has chosen to self-publish his book since traditional publishers wouldn't touch it with a ten foot bong due to the controversy. Duh! It's currently available online only, sold out on Amazon and sure to become a collectors item. Cortes has also released a 32 page children's coloring book about discrimination against people of middle eastern descent, the title is "I Don't Want To Blow You Up!". Bound to be a best seller in the making and a gift with purchase at all Army barracks stores.
