Creativity, The Hammer of Expression

Hammer_art_1 Creativity is an action, it's not a feeling. I've heard the phrase, I'm not feeling very creative used on more than one occasion. Creativity is defined as the state or quality of being creative. The process by which one utilizes creative ability. Creative ability can be greater in some of us and less in others. The more we unleash creative ability the better we will become at expressing our own originality and imagination. It's vital to use that which we posses.

If creativity was a tool like a hammer, then it would only be of value when given purpose in the hand of the user. Without an action step it would lay dormant. The same can be said of a crayon, a pencil or an idea. I encourage you today regardless of how you are feeling to take action, pick up that hammer of expression and pound away until you are satisfied. You'll be amazed at what you can knock out.

"All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." Pablo Picasso

This post is actually giving me the encouragement to go ahead and call in sick at work tomorrow with the attempt at having another day of pure creativity at home. Thanks!

Great notion Ray and well expressed. Just as the macro universe is recreating itself every nanosecond the creative impulse is found whirling through every person at all times, as when we choose a tie or a dress to wear, cook a meal... or set the table. When we hang a picture or decorate a room we're expressing our creativity. The intonation of our speech defines it's meaning along with the motion of the eyes and the hands, Words must be artfully expressed to find their full import. Arranging a flower placement... or even making an excuse require an assessment of the intrinsic and extrinsic quality of the presentation. When one claims " I'm just not the creative type" they're selling themselves short. A minor bit of self reflection on any given day will find myriad expression of creativity.

The key stumbling block to having a creative life is merely in the realizing of it. We are ALL creative beings! Grab it , pick it up and run with it. Carpe diem. This is your moment to shine, for another is not promised.
